The Tallest Condos in Toronto in Pre-Construction (Fall 2016)

Toronto’s building boom has seen the average height of new towers increase dramatically with new towers in core areas reaching dizzying heights.  While it doesn’t have the highest floor count, The One Condos was recently approved to be the tallest building in Toronto (other than the CN Tower) and will reach over 1,000 feet.

1 Yonge Street Condos is a new condo development by Pinnacle International to be located at 1 Yonge Street. The project will have a total of five buildings (95, 85, 65, 22, and 35 storeys tall), with over 4,000 luxury condo suites, plus commercial retail and office space. Upscale amenities include a multi-level fitness centre, a restaurant and lounge area, recreation facilities, and more. The architect for this massive project is the world-renowned Hariri Pontarini. Mirvish + Gehry Condos

This new mixed-use condo project to be located in Toronto’s Downtown Core/Entertainment District by David Mirvish and Frank Gehry will feature three residential towers (ranging from 82 to 92 storeys), and stepped podiums to house an art gallery (the Mirvish Collection, planted terraces, and a new campus of the OCAD University). Resident amenities include multi-level underground parking, terraces (located in the podiums, plus a terrace on West Tower’s 61st floor and East Tower’s 67th floor), an exercise room, rooftop terraces, yoga/pilates studio, a billiards room, and a media/theatre room.

The One Condos

The One Condos by Mizrahi Development and Foster + Partners will be located at One Bloor West and is a pre-construction condo project that, once complete, will be Canada’s tallest building (standing a total of 1,043 feet tall with 80 floors and 560 luxury condo suites). Resident amenities include retail space and restaurants at ground level, 24/7 cleaning service, valet service, theatre rooms, and more. An estimated completion date for the project is still unknown.

8 Elm Street Condos is a new condo development by the Pemberton Group in pre-construction at 8 Elm Street in Toronto’s Bay Street Corridor/Discovery District neighbourhood. The project is proposed to be 80 storeys high with a total of 469 luxury condo suites. It’s conveniently located just minutes away from Yonge Street (for shopping and dining), walking distance to Dundas Square, and close to parks like Joseph Sheard Parkette, Larry Sefton Park, and College Park.

This new condo development currently in pre-construction at 385 Yonge Street in Downtown Toronto is being developed by Cresford Development and will rise 62 and 73 storeys high with a total of 1,106 luxury condo suites. The project is proposed to have 289 parking spaces, five loading docks, a 9-story podium, and architecture by Quadrangle Architects. The new complex is conveniently located close to some of Downtown’s best attractions (the CN Tower, Royal Ontario Museum, and Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada), nearby parks like Edwards Gardens and Allan Gardens Conservatory, and plenty of public transportation options.

50 Bloor Street West is a new pre-construction condo complex by Morguard Corporation in Toronto’s Yorkville neighbourhood. It’s proposed to rise 71 storeys tall (230 metres) with a total of 600 luxury condo suites. 50 Bloor Street West Condos is conveniently located close to the city’s “Mink Mile”, the Royal Ontario Museum, the best of Toronto’s restaurants (like Morton’s Steakhouse), Ryerson University, and the Yonge & Bloor Subway Station.

This new condo development in the Yorkville neighbourhood of Toronto will be located at 80 Bloor Street West and is being developed by Krugarand Corporation. The complex will eventually be a total of 68 floors (224 metres) with 565 luxury condo suites (85 bachelor units, 300 one-bedroom units, 123 two-bedroom suites, and 57 three-bedroom suites). Architecture for the project is being handled by Alliance Architects and is proposed to feature a unique split design.

1 Eglinton East Condos is a new pre-construction condo project located at Yonge and Eglinton East and is being developed by Davpart. The architectural design will be led by award-winning Hariri Pontarini Architects. The complex is proposed to be 68 storeys tall (rising 215-metres tall), with 660 luxury condo suites, retail space at grade level, 287 parking spaces, and commercial office at the base.
