Charles & Hayden to be Revitalized as part of CASA III

In 2010 the City of Toronto in collaboration with Peter Clewes of architectsAlliance completed a makeover of Toronto’s “Fashion Mile” that stretches across Bloor Street from Yonge Street to Church Street.  The renovation included a re-cladding of the streetscape with gorgeous black granite, a widening of the pedestrian walkways, new landscaping and new street furnishings.

The $20 million makeover was a huge success and emphasized what we already knew: Bloor Street is Toronto’s premiere street in the Cities most popular and sought after neighbourhood.

As part of the “public art” fund for the CASA condominium projects, Peter Clewes has been able to negotiate an expansion of that streetscape south to both Hayden and Charles East stretching from Yonge Street to Church Street.  The renovation will include the same black granite widened walkways and landscaping and will cost $3.8 million.

Extending the streetscape to Hayden and Charles will help elevate these streets and connect them to the Yorkville neighbourhood (in what we are calling the “Yorkville Extention”).  Cresford are working hard to ensure the CASA Condominium brand connects to the Yonge & Bloor lifestyle and this is the second major component announced (first being the partnership with Hermes for the lobby furnishings) that will achieve just that.

CASA I (33 Charles East) is among the most sought after and popular condominiums in the city, due largely in part to the location and its proximity to Yonge & Bloor and the Yorkville neighbourhood.

CASA III will be launching very soon – for all the details as soon as they become available, complete the form below!
