Backstage VIP Launch: January 10th 2011

Cityzen, Fernbrook and Castlepoint will be one of the first ones out of the gate for VIP Condo Launches in 2011.  Backstage Condos, located in the very popular St. Lawrence Market is phase 2 of the Sony Center Redevelopment (Phase 1 being L Tower) and has been one of the most anticipated developments in Toronto during the last 6 months or so.

Cityzen et al. have been on somewhat of a roll recently with eye catching developments in Mississauga (Absolute Condos) and Toronto (L Tower), the developers are really pushing the architechtural boundaries for unique and modern buildings that promise to become landmarks (many are even calling Absolute Condos the “CN Tower of Mississauga” because it dominates the skyline so much).

Backstage boasts all the standard finishes you would expect from a major Toronto Development (wood flooring, 9’/10′ ceilings, higher end Bosch appliances, natural stone in the kitchen) and also has some very impressive amenities, the major being the rooftop garden featuring a 70ft. infinity pool.

The rooftop area is increasingly becoming an area that developers are utilizing as social features, with projects such as Bisha and Thompson Residences boasting incredible rooftop areas with infinity pools.  The Rooftop at 550 Wellington Hotel and Condominiums is extremely popular among guests and residents and shows how a “rooftop done well” can really attract buyers and tenants to a development.

Backstage Condos are expected to sell for around $600 per square foot and will begin occupancy in April 2013.  Further, a deposit structure of just 15% in the first 12 months makes it very attractive.  Keep an eye out for our full price analysis when the project launches next week.
