W Hotel in Toronto Rumour Picking Up Steam

The rumours of a W Hotel in Toronto are starting to pick up some steam, with some suggesting a location and collaboration with Freed Developments are already in place.

It is believed that the site at 15 Mercer Street (located nearby The Mercer, King Blue and the existing Hotel Le Germain and Gretsky’s) will eventually become a new W Hotel & Residences, similar to how Freed developed the Thompson Hotel & Residences in King West.

W Hotels are a luxury hotel chain and “hot spots” (very similar to the Thompson Hotel) with notable locations in Montreal, New York City, Hong Kong and Barcelona (among others).

W Hotels and Freed Developments seems like a match made in heaven.  While these are only rumours at this time, we are already excited at the prospect of bringing another sought after international chain to Toronto.
