Plans Unveiled for Casino & Condo Complex on Front Street

Oxford have unveiled an incredible $3 billion plan to revitalize the block surrounding the Metro Toronto Convention Centre that will include Hotel space, Office Space, Residential Condominiums, a new Park and most controversially, a city-based Casino.

A Casino in the City has been a big debate for councilors, with Rob Ford stating his desire to keep Casino’s out of Toronto unless they generate can generate an additional “$100 million in taxes and 10-20,000 new jobs”.

The Casino makes up 10% of the new “Oxford Place” that will also include a new 5.5 acre part that will sit over the railway corridor.

It’s certainly an exciting proposal, but will this one ever see the light of day? Oxford maintain that the success of this project rides on the approval of the Casino which seems a long way off.  We’re sure that this project will get a lot more media attention in the coming months and we can’t wait to see which way this goes!
